So players can boost to 80 and then start doing map completion, and get all the things mentioned above, including keys for doing map complete. The Hero points they earn will work them towards unlocking an elite spec at that point. Edit: Expansions are only playable after level 80. But you can get a mount (raptor) earlier if you don't care about story spoilers and have a helpful level 80 friend to carry you. Either expansion will unlock masteries (including Core Tyria) for you when you reach level 80 and do the first expansion story step. If your goal is do do open world, boss trains, Living World and personal story, then a level 80 boost can be a good thing. However, if you want to participate in end game content: raids, WvW, sPvP, Fractals, etc, I would recommend working your way through leveling by either doing map completion, or personal story activities.
